Course

Architecting Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure with Anthos

Google Cloud

This specialization is designed for technical engineers, architects, and administrators aiming to leverage Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes, and Istio to create, integrate, or modernize solutions. Participants will learn the intricacies of modernizing, managing, and observing microservices-based applications across multiple clusters in GCP, on-premises, or other cloud providers using Anthos.

  • Deploy service mesh control-plane and proxies.
  • Centrally observe, discover, and monitor microservices-based applications across clusters.
  • Define and manage multi-cluster services, utilizing open-source service mesh and multiple control-plane topologies.
  • Enable consistent policy enforcement across multi-cluster services.

This specialization is offered by Google Cloud and consists of four modules:

  1. Multi-Cluster, Multi-Cloud with Anthos
  2. Cloud Operations and Service Mesh with Anthos
  3. Anthos on Bare Metal
  4. Hybrid Cloud Modernizing Applications with Anthos

Course Modules

This specialization comprises four modules: Multi-Cluster, Multi-Cloud with Anthos; Cloud Operations and Service Mesh with Anthos; Anthos on Bare Metal; and Hybrid Cloud Modernizing Applications with Anthos.

Multi-Cluster, Multi-Cloud with Anthos

Create, connect, and manage Anthos clusters in multiple environments.

  • Create and manage Anthos fleets.
  • Attach clusters and observe application behaviors.
  • Load balance clusters.

Cloud Operations and Service Mesh with Anthos

Explain each layer of the Anthos technology stack and the problems it’s designed to address.

  • Create, connect, and manage Anthos clusters from multiple deployment environments.
  • Attach compatible clusters and explore/observe application behaviors.
  • Load-balance clusters running in Google Cloud.

Anthos on Bare Metal

Deploy and run applications on Anthos bare metal.

  • Create the infrastructure required to run Anthos.
  • Create user and admin clusters.
  • Use observability best practices with monitoring, logging, and tracing.

Hybrid Cloud Modernizing Applications with Anthos

Install workloads on Cloud Run (fully managed) and Cloud Run for Anthos.

  • Configure and review logging, metrics, and monitoring for Serverless Computing Solutions on Anthos.
  • Identify phases of migration and workload types for migrations with Anthos.
  • Install Migrate for Anthos and migrate workloads.
