Our specialization in power distribution offers two unique courses that provide a blend of basic and emerging technology. The first course, Electrical Power Distribution, covers everything from concept to commissioning, including exposure to statutory regulations and different distribution equipment. The second course, Medium Voltage (MV) Substation (up to 33kV), focuses on fundamental concepts and engineering methodology for voltage levels up to 33kV. It covers a wide range of topics including the selection and quantification of distribution poles, laying underground cables, distribution automation systems, and the design of protection schemes and earthing and lightning protection layouts for substations.
Throughout these courses, learners will gain a deep understanding of industry practices in conducting engineering for substations and selecting various substation equipment in accordance with Indian and International Standards. The curriculum also emphasizes safety aspects, safe operating procedures, and maintenance practices, providing a holistic understanding of the subject.
