This course comprises six modules that cover Cloud Native and Multicloud Concepts and Goals, Migrating Apps to Advantage Cloud Infrastructure, Modernizing Applications to be CN, Applying CI/CD to CN Applications, Managing Applications in Multicloud Deployments, and a Final Project.
Welcome to the first module of the course, "Cloud Native and Multicloud Concepts and Goals." This module will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of Cloud Native and Multicloud concepts and their associated goals. You will also explore the importance of achieving agility, maximizing operability with DevOps, and ensuring observability for DevSecOps. Hands-on practice quizzes and graded quizzes will reinforce your learning and understanding of the core concepts covered in this module.
The second module, "Migrating Apps to Advantage Cloud Infrastructure," will delve into the considerations and benefits of adopting Cloud Native, paths for application modernization, and application and data migration to the cloud. You will also have the opportunity to engage in a hands-on lab where you will manage files and packages using IBM Aspera on Cloud (AoC).
Module three, "Modernizing Applications to be CN," focuses on architectural modernization, adopting a microservices architecture, reactive programming with serverless, and the significance of containers. You will also learn about leveraging the IBM Garage Method to modernize applications and engage in hands-on lab exercises involving managing cloud native applications on Kubernetes.
"Applying CI/CD to CN Applications," the fourth module, delves into the benefits of employing CI/CD, automating validation, configuring infrastructure using GitOps, and improving observability through CI/CD. You will also have the opportunity to build pipelines with Tekton during the hands-on lab sessions.
