Course Modules

This course consists of four modules that cover identifying successful innovations, organizational and human factors affecting adoption, the impact of country of origin on innovation diffusion, and identifying end users and securing engagement.

HOW TO IDENTIFY A SUCCESSFUL INNOVATION

Welcome to the first module, "HOW TO IDENTIFY A SUCCESSFUL INNOVATION". This module introduces participants to the factors affecting the adoption of an innovation and features real-world case studies such as robotic surgery and the Brazilian Family Health Strategy. Participants will explore innovation features required for success, scalability, and compare different innovations to test their knowledge.

ORGANISATIONAL AND HUMAN FACTORS THAT AFFECT ADOPTION OF AN INNOVATION

The second module, "ORGANISATIONAL AND HUMAN FACTORS THAT AFFECT ADOPTION OF AN INNOVATION", delves into the organizational features and human characteristics that influence the adoption of innovations. Participants will examine how organizational structure, culture, and resources impact adoption, and reflect on human factors from their own experiences or contexts.

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN AND HOW IT AFFECTS INNOVATION DIFFUSION

Explore the impact of the country of origin on innovation diffusion in the third module. "COUNTRY OF ORIGIN AND HOW IT AFFECTS INNOVATION DIFFUSION" discusses the importance of country of origin, external cues, affective and normative aspects, and unconscious bias in innovation adoption. Participants will also reflect on their own affective responses to countries.

IDENTIFYING THE END USER AND SECURING ENGAGEMENT

The final module, "IDENTIFYING THE END USER AND SECURING ENGAGEMENT", addresses challenges for clinicians adopting innovations and how engagement can be secured. Participants will learn to identify the end user, pitch innovations, and understand the importance of knowing who the innovations are for.
