Communication and Leadership during a Public Health Crisis

Emphasizing the importance of leadership skills in public health positions, this module focuses on developing effective communication skills necessary to lead a team through conflict and crisis. Participants will learn strategies for reaching common goals and working with diverse teams immersed in a crisis.

Disaster, Crisis, and Emergency Preparedness Communication

Participants will learn about emergency management, planning, and crisis risk communication. This module covers the operational challenges associated with disasters and public health emergencies, exploring how to approach the planning process and craft messages about risks. Participants will also understand the ways extreme events can be felt differently within communities.

Connect with Diverse Audiences during a Public Health Crisis

This module emphasizes the duty of public health communicators to communicate with integrity, accuracy, and clarity. Participants will learn to segment audiences into smaller groups, tailor messages to unique needs, recognize and overcome biases, and leverage persuasive communication strategies.
