This program is designed for educators, whether by profession or vocation, seeking to enhance or transform their teaching practice across different educational levels, disciplines, and modalities. Participants will explore opportunities to flexibly adapt their educational environments through pedagogical, technological, curricular, and strategic approaches.

Throughout the course, participants will learn to articulate the advantages of designing instruction with a focus on Big Ideas, establish educational needs for a course, systematically design courses and teaching units, and apply student-centered strategies mediated by digital technologies.

Course Modules

This course comprises three modules: "Analysis of the Context for Instructional Design," "Designing Courses for Understanding Big Ideas," and "Teaching with Active Pedagogy Mediated by Digital Technology."

  • Provide informed opinions on when to redesign courses using digital technology

  • Define the major course modules and underlying Big Ideas
  • Create a coherent evaluative component for the program
