THINK GLOBAL: TEACHERS TRAINING COURSE (IDP-ICE)

A group of European partners collaborated on the Erasmus+ funded ‘Think Global’ project, exploring global competence in the classroom. This course, offered by Universitat de Barcelona, equips school teachers with the knowledge and strategies to develop global competence in students through cross-curricular projects.

The course is divided into five modules, covering topics such as the theoretical framework, methodologies, project-based learning, and assessment in global competence. Participants have the flexibility to choose modules based on their needs, with an option to develop a final project encompassing all modules.

Course Modules

The course consists of five modules covering cross-cultural theory, principles and strategies, methodologies, project-based learning, and assessment in global competence. It offers flexibility for participants to tailor their learning experience.

INTRODUCTION: What is global competence, and how can it be learned effectively?

The course begins with an overview of cross-cultural theory on global competences, exploring the theoretical framework and research on the topic.

MODULE 1: Introduction to Global Education, Global Citizenship Education and Global Competence.

Module 1 focuses on the introduction to global education, global citizenship education, and global competence, providing participants with foundational knowledge.

MODULE 2. THE THEORICAL FRAMEWORK

Module 2 delves into the theoretical framework, examining the principles and strategies related to global competence in the classroom.

MODULE 3. METHODOLOGIES

Module 3 addresses methodologies and the development of global competence programs, offering practical insights for implementation.

MODULE 4: THE ASSESSMENT IN GLOBAL COMPETENCE

Module 4 is centered around project-based learning, guiding participants in designing and implementing projects to develop global competence in the classroom.

MODULE 5: PBL: PROJECT-BASED LEARNING

The final module focuses on assessing global competence, providing guidance on how to effectively measure and evaluate students’ global competence.
