Course Modules

The K-12 Blended & Online Learning course consists of eight modules covering trends and standards, active learning and assessment, teaching in content areas, technology integration, syllabus design, unit planning, module development, and post-assessment.

Trends and Standards in K12 Blended & Online Learning

Active Learning & Assessment in K12 Blended & Online Learning

Week Two: Participants will explore active learning and assessment strategies for K12 blended and online learning. This module covers the integration of active learning techniques and effective assessment methods in the virtual classroom.

Teaching Blended and Online in the Content Areas

Week Three: This module focuses on teaching in content areas, featuring subject area guests in social studies, ELA, mathematics, science, and inclusive education. Participants will gain insights into teaching strategies specific to these content areas.

Technologies for Blended & Online Instruction

Week Four: Participants will delve into the technologies for blended and online instruction, exploring various tools and platforms to enhance the virtual learning experience. They will engage in discussions and assessments to evaluate their understanding of technology integration.

Designing A Syllabus

Week Five: This module guides participants through the process of designing a syllabus for blended and online learning, emphasizing the essential components and considerations for creating an effective syllabus.

Designing a Blended or Online Unit Plan

Week Six: Participants will learn to design a blended or online unit plan, applying the knowledge gained from the previous modules to create a comprehensive unit plan tailored to their specific teaching context.

Developing a Module

Week Seven: This module focuses on developing a module for K12 blended and online learning, allowing participants to apply their knowledge and skills to create a module suitable for their students' needs.

Wrapping It Up
