This course clarifies the definition and meaning of Social Entrepreneurship, focusing on understanding the source and root of social problems. You will be introduced to different perspectives and learn about complementary and opportunistic assets to detect opportunities and develop business ideas for social change. Practical activities include initiating team formation, researching problem topics, and gradually identifying a purpose for your social venture project.
This course takes the social business opportunity identified in the first module to a higher level. You will develop a business model using the Business Model Canvas and start writing a business plan. Additionally, you will assess different organizational forms, select an appropriate funding strategy, and compare social impact investment methods. It is recommended to complete the first module before starting this course.
In this course, you will learn about social impact assessment, develop a method to evaluate the social mission achieved, and outline an appropriate communication strategy for your social enterprise. Moreover, you will determine growth strategies, including scaling or replicating your business plan internationally, and evaluate exit strategies. The course concludes with a Capstone project requiring the submission of the final business plan of your social venture.
