Organizational Leadership

Organizational Leadership equips aspiring managers to lead change and leverage different roles and functions within for-profit institutions to create lasting value in the marketplace. The course delves into essential leadership skills, collaboration, negotiation, storytelling, social influence, marketing, and design innovation. Students will explore how great leaders assess themselves, lead collaborative teams, manage negotiations and conflict, communicate through storytelling, employ communication strategies to influence, and leverage data analytics to drive effective product and service design.

The course consists of five modules and a capstone project, each covering critical aspects of organizational leadership. Through self-assessments, students will analyze their leadership style, develop team charters, and craft win-win negotiation strategies. They will learn to communicate effectively through storytelling, develop strategies for influencing personal attitudes and social factors, use data science skills to attract and retain customers, and apply human-centered design processes to real-world challenges. The capstone project challenges students to develop a strategy to address industry challenges through a case study.

High Performance Collaboration: Leadership, Teamwork, and Negotiation equips students with essential skills to develop and expand their leadership repertoire, design teams for collaboration, and craft win-win negotiation strategies. Through self-assessments, students will analyze their leadership style, develop team charters, and develop a game plan for effective negotiation.

Leadership Communication for Maximum Impact: Storytelling

Leadership Communication for Maximum Impact: Storytelling helps leaders find their own story through personal branding, develop storytelling success with all constituencies, initiate an effective voice for crisis, interact well through social and third-party media, and communicate a vision for innovation.

Leadership Through Social Influence

Leadership Through Social Influence provides learners with a systematic general framework for analyzing persuasive influence situations. Students will learn strategies for influencing personal attitudes, social factors, perceived ability, and inducing people to act on existing intentions.

Leadership Through Marketing

Leadership Through Marketing teaches students to identify new opportunities to create value for empowered consumers, develop strategies to yield an advantage over rivals, and develop data science skills to lead more effectively and allocate resources in a challenging environment.

Leadership Through Design Innovation

Leadership Through Design Innovation offers hands-on experience applying human-centered design processes to real-world challenges. Students will learn to engage with end-users, effectively frame problems, identify potential solutions, and build prototypes to test assumptions and learn what works.

Organizational Leadership Capstone

The Organizational Leadership Capstone challenges students to develop a strategy to address industry challenges through a case study. Students will apply concepts and skills explored throughout the specialization, evaluate their own skills as a leader, and communicate their strategy to relevant stakeholders.
